2012 Portland Bazaar: Details + Volunteers!

Of all the projects I worked on last year, the Portland Bazaar was my favorite. It started as a small idea discussed over coffee and ended as a wildly successful holiday market that was packed with incredible local handmade goods and more shoppers and supporters than I could have possibly hoped for. As I looked around through the crowd last year and spoke to sellers who'd never sold that much in a single weekend, I knew it was a project I wanted to continue. So I'm thrilled to announce that, along with my friends and Bazaar partners Greg and Matt, the 2012 Portland Bazaar is happening next weekend, December 8th + 9th! It will be the best local one-stop shop for gift ideas, food, drink and an entire weekend full of art and design inspiration.

To kick off the second annual (I'm so excited to say that!) Portland Bazaar, we've curated an incredible selection of handmade goods (all locally made) that will be sold on December 8th and 9th at Sandbox Studio in Portland, Oregon. Our goal is to celebrate the high-quality handmade work being produced in Portland's creative community and highlight new artists and designers from the area. In addition to offering a curated selection of vendors in a wide range of categories — clothing, accessories, home goods, books, vintage wares, fine art, food and spirits — the Bazaar will also offer unique demonstrations and book signings (stay tuned for those details later this week!).

To complement the excitement happening inside the Bazaar, the street in front of Sandbox Studio will be closed to traffic and lined with some of Portland's finest food trucks. There will also be fresh coffee and espresso drinks inside the Bazaar served by Hart. We aim to provide each and every guest with not only great holiday gift options but also delicious snacks and drinks.

To get everyone started off right on their shopping day, Design*Sponge will be buying the first 100 guests on Saturday free coffee from Hart and the first 100 guests on Sunday a free Pine State Biscuit! Come early and grab some free extra energy to get your shopping going!

Details are below– we hope to see you there!
