http://assets4.designsponge.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/shannon-and-julia-bio-pic-500-wide.jpg The toughest aspect of having a design partner — as I imagine it, anyway! — is landing on an aesthetic that you can both agree on. But Shannon Davenport and Julia Wilson of the ridiculously cool and polished jewelry line Fortune Favors the Brave (and the oh-so-sleek agate-and-gold earrings that they made just for Of a Kind) have a lock on that. They even share the same taste in cookbooks and face creams. Get the scoop on their favorite recent finds (and maybe do some holiday shopping in the process, courtesy of Shannon). — Erica 1. Loeffler Randall Rider Bag, $495 "We're huge fans of everything Loeffler Randall, and their recently launched bags are just amazing. This one is small but still substantial, and the bright color blocking means that you can just do jeans and sneakers and let the bag do the talking." 2. Dwell Studio Draper Stripe Major Brown Throw, $165 "This little blanket has a healthy dose of crisp, clean, gender-neutral stripes. It seems simple, but you'd be surprised — that's hard to find!" 3. Simone Rocha Lace-Up Shoes, $896 "Simone Rocha is one of the most exciting young designers right now, and we are obsessed with these metallic loafers. The Perspex sole just makes them that much more next-level." 4. DWR Primary Desk, $1,805 "Julia just moved, so we have been looking at lots of furniture lately and have been inspired by all the amazing stuff out there. With its double shelf and natural finish, this desk is a winner. Plus, it's petite, so it works well for N.Y. living." 5. The Art of Simple Food by Alice Waters, $20 "This book is a bible for anyone who has to look up things like whether or not vinegar goes bad. Turns out it doesn't, and we love Alice for these kinds of cooking 101 tips — combined with some really amazing recipes that make you seem like you know what you're doing." 6. Malin + Goetz Vetiver Candle, $52 "Hurricane Sandy gave us a new appreciation for candles! The Malin + Goetz ones make perfect gifts — who wouldn't use this?"
