Sadie & Emma Pottery

During my brief West Coast trip the other week, I popped in one of my favorite LA shops, Reform School. In addition to some striped wicker/reed maracas that I plan to hang on a wall or doorknob somewhere (I'm trying to decide how quickly that sound will get old. Answer: probably pretty quickly.), I picked up a small piece by local potters Sadie & Emma. Partners in life and work, Sadie & Emma use local materials to create their earthy designs, ranging from speckled cups to simple pet dishes. Reform School describes the color of their work as "toasted white," and that really nails the warm color in most of their pieces. I loved their stoneware crocks the most; emblazoned with an "S&E" logo, they're a sweet modern version of my flea market fave. Click here and here to check out their selections at Reform School and here to shop their full collection online ($18–$32). xo, grace
